Message from Superintendent

Hempstead ISD Families,

It is an honor and a privilege to greet you as the new Superintendent of Schools for Hempstead ISD. This is an exciting time to be a Hempstead Bobcat, and words cannot express my gratitude to the Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees for entrusting me to lead this great district. I am fired up and ready to get to work, alongside the many incredible educators we have in HISD.

To share a little about my background, I am a proud alumnus of Prairie View A&M University, and I spent time in neighboring Waller ISD as a teacher, athletic coach, and administrator. I am thrilled to be back in this part of the state, serving in a tight-knit community that believes in putting students first.

Throughout my almost 20 years in the field of education, I have learned that community engagement is one of the best ways to improve student outcomes. Schools make up the heart of this community, and when the community is committed to helping the district achieve its goals, everyone wins. The level of community involvement I have witnessed over the past few days has certainly shown the core values of this community – providing every student an opportunity to find success and a sense of belonging in our schools.

I’ve had the pleasure to meet many students, families, community members and staff members over the past few days, and you all have been incredibly welcoming and kind, for that I am most grateful, and it has helped me to begin feeling at home in my new role. As your superintendent, I plan to continue to foster this dynamic relationship between the district and the community. Your voice matters to me, and it is only when all stakeholders are invested can we truly thrive.

The future of Hempstead ISD is bright! I am dedicated to doing what is best for our students, staff and community, no matter the challenges we face. I know that when we work together, we can do anything! Please do not hesitate to contact me should you ever have any concerns. Please join me on Tuesday May 3rd anytime from 4:30-7:00 pm at the Hempstead Administration office to say hello.  I look forward to partnering with you to ensure the success of our wonderful students. Let’s do this! Go Bobcats!
